This technique is named "Kasa-Maki Shibori" because, when dyed, the pattern resembles an opened umbrella. In Nagoya’s Arimatsu Shibori, it is also known as "Makiage Shibori."
１，First, sew along the outline of the desired pattern using cotton thread. Tie knots at both ends of the thread.
２，Hook the knotted part of the thread onto the shibori stand.
３，Next, pinch the fabric at the point farthest from the shibori stand. While holding it, move the fabric back and forth to align the stitched outline in a straight line.
４，Then, stretch the fabric to return it to its original state and tilt the gathered portion to the right.
５，Begin gathering the fabric from the front. To achieve a clean, even gather, pull the fabric from both sides while gathering.
６，Once the gathers are evenly arranged, remove the knotted thread on the upper side from the shibori stand while keeping the fabric tilted to the right.
７，After removing the thread, pull it forward to you. The thread will stop at the knot.
８，While keeping the thread taut, wind up with thread it twice at the designated marking to secure it.
９，Continue wrapping in an upward direction, spacing each wrap approximately 2mm apart. Ensure the thread remains tight and does not loosen.
１０，Once you reach the tip, tie the thread securely to prevent it from unraveling.
